- The quiz dinner is a game meal in which we want to address prevention issues with young people and their parents.

- Your project in detail
- Through this project, we wish to weave a support network for parenthood́ which we hope will increase the qualitý of life for parents and children in the neighborhood. We also wish to register as a renewable and transferable pilot project in other neighborhoods for which similar needs would be identified and which also have an institutional fabric wishing to benefit from a more coordinated approach to mobilizing their resources and skills.\nEach axis will have its own specific intervention methodology, in order to meet the needs of the target groups and the different types of expertise required.\nFor this call for projects, we are seeking funding for the third axis only. That's why we're giving priority to this one. However, the other two axes are presented at the end of this document.\n\nThe Dinner Quiz\n\nA model in place\n\nThe Dîner Quizz is defined as follows in \"fiche pratique n° 1\" available on the website of the Centre vaudois d'aide à la jeunesse (CVAJ):\n\n A Dîner Quizz citoyen is a meal during which teams of young people answer questions [...]. Over the course of the meal, the young people are presented with some twenty multiple-choice questions, prepared in advance by jokers (experts). The jokers are introduced during the meal and can give precise explanations if required. At the end of the meal, a written document containing the quiz questions and full answers (with elaboration) is distributed to all participants. They are also entitled to a prize (a voucher for a driving course, cinema entry, fitness trial pass, etc.). \n\nThe Adolescence theme aims to build, develop and solidify links between teenagers and parents within the family. The themes addressed focus on elements that punctuate young people's lives and are part of their daily routine. The process is simple: several teams made up of young people and adults (if possible from the same family) come together for a meal, during which a facilitator asks questions on topics relevant to the audience. Teams answer the questions, with the help of a joker at their table, and, depending on the number of correct answers, go home with a prize. As this axis is the central element of our present request, it will be developed in greater detail later in this document.\n\nWe will take the general concept and adapt it to the target audience, i.e. parents with their children aged 12 and over. The challenge is to get parents and young people to sit around a table and discuss pre-defined themes, with the help of one facilitator and one expert (joker) per table. For example, we're thinking of tackling the issue of problematic consumption, digital practices (video games, social networks, harassment, etc.) or public health issues. We're assuming that tackling these issues in a fun, convivial way over a meal will help to encourage participation.\n\nWe've focused on the Dîners Quizz concept, as it proposes a number of notions that tie in well with our focus on adolescence.\nFirst of all, the informal aspect of a meal offers an interesting framework for encouraging the participation of those concerned, and developing discussions that are not addressed within all families. This correlates with our vision of opening up dialogue within families, breaking taboos and creating intra-family links.\n\nSecondly, teenagers make up a large part of our audience during our various drop-in sessions and events in the neighborhood. Our animators maintain good contact with them. Conversely, we have little access to their parents, most of whom work or look after the household. So, by setting up the Dîners Quizz we aim to meet and build links between some of the Bourdonnette residents and the center's socio-cultural activities team.\n\nFinally, this activity provides an opportunity to gather important information about family life, the strength of cultural ties, beliefs, customs and habits within households. This information will enable us to reflect on and adjust our interventions at the center and in the neighborhood.\n\nObjectives of the Dinner Quizzes\nTo guarantee the link between these events and the overall project, and with a view to making them sustainable, we have defined specific objectives for the Dîners Quizz.\n\n- Enable contact between families and facilitators, and between families and experts on the various topics covered at the dinners, in order to create a supportive network accessible to the public.\n- Provide a safe, non-judgmental space for local families to talk about current issues and/or topics rarely discussed within the family.\n- Develop the participatory notion of community health among local families, as well as among animation professionals and experts in the various themes of the Dîners Quizzes.\n- Raise awareness of the difficulties experienced by Bourdonnette families, not only among families, but also among social work professionals and thematic experts.\n\nThese objectives are rooted in our desire to develop new family-centered spaces and integrate them into the center's various activities. In addition, they define the role of the facilitators during these evenings, which is to build and develop relationships with users, as well as to set up and test a facilitation approach that encourages the participation of those concerned and enables participants to be referred directly to resource persons (the experts).\n\nAs the Dîner Quizz is a certified project, we have to follow the relevant training to be able to develop this axis. It is therefore planned that part of the Centre Socioculturel team will undergo training in order to learn the methodology and then be able to use it, while meeting the requirements of the label.\n\nThe project is presented in full in the attached documents.
