Event of capoeira and other cultural and physical activities organized by women, dedicated to women's rights, where they are strengthened, stimulated and accompanied

Women capoeiristas, mothers of capoeira students, women from the Prélaz-Valency neighborhood

Your project in detail

Every year for the past 5 years, we've been organizing an event dedicated to women's rights and the stimulation of complicity and sisterhood between women capoeiristas, in collaboration with the Prélaz-Valency socio-cultural center: the title means "She plays (capoeira)" in Portuguese. March 2025 will mark the third time we've opened our doors to capoeiristas for several capoeira workshops and rodas led by female capoeira teachers. During "ELA JOGA 2025", we'd also like to integrate the population of Lausanne, especially those in the Prélaz district, into a positive and creative exchange on the theme of women's rights and self-fulfilment.

Planned schedule

Friday, March 7: Conference and discussion on the role of women in Capoeira and their different roles within an association. Practical workshop Saturday March 8th: Capoeira workshops and other cultural and physical activities with our special guests: Mestra Voltagrande, Mestra Tartaruga and Formanda Pressinha, three Brazilian professionals in the field. Courses for capoeiristas and parent-child students of the association Sunday March 9th: Café com elas" brunch for participants Warm-up, workshop and final roda
