Micro Participatory Budget 2024
Small projects. Big Impact.
Enhance and renew the equipment available to families on the Place Andrée
Short description
Until 2020, the Centre socioculturel de Bellevaux had a wheeled box to lend equipment to Bellevaux children on the Place Antonioli-Rouiller. In 2020, after 28 months' work, the Center was able to set up a permanent container on the edge of the square, containing not only equipment for the children - rollerblades, various games, paint, etc. - but also for the parents: deckchairs, a table and chairs for the children. - but also for parents: deckchairs, tables and benches. Today, this equipment is worn out, especially the rollerblades, games and deckchairs. The container also needs repainting, as it has been tagged and weathered. The Center plans to work collectively to buy back equipment and promote its management by forming autonomous collectives.
Target audience
Families, children, young people and parents from the Bellevaux neighborhood
Your project in detail
Since 2020, a container of equipment available to users of the Place Antonioli-Rouiller has been installed on the edge of the square, owned by the Centre socioculturel de Bellevaux and AQuBe (Bellevaux neighborhood association). In this way, they filled a gap in the square's infrastructure. By bringing it to life in a convivial way, they aimed to create meeting spaces, fostering a sense of belonging and ownership of the place. The container is a much-used tool for the animation team, who open it and make its contents available as soon as the weather is fine and until the first frost. Residents, too, can have access to the container without the presence of the animation team. For example, two years in a row, a group of young people have been able to use the deckchairs to play video games outside. For the past two years, a group of parents and adults from the AQuBe neighborhood association has also offered open-air film screenings for families, with growing success. The projection equipment, like part of the container, was purchased thanks to a previous fund-raising campaign with the FDD. Today, the equipment available to families (20 deckchairs, 20 pairs of rollerblades, 3 tables and benches, games and other items) is in poor condition due to heavy use. It is necessary to renew and enrich the stock to continue to encourage families to use the square. The container has also suffered the effects of time, and we're thinking of having it painted by an artist to brighten it up. To reconstitute a stock of materials, the Center will organize a session with users in early spring 2025. The basic equipment we need (rollerblades and deckchairs) has already been budgeted for and is unanimously supported, but we plan to use this session to collectively reflect on new material, with inspirational elements such as catalogs and examples from other squares. This approach will also motivate new people and broaden the collective to develop neighborhood access to the container during the summer period. In this way, we hope to continue developing this axis of neighborhood animation, whose main target is families.
