Micro Participatory Budget 2024
Small projects. Big Impact.
A green space for families: the green courtyard at Petits Cailloux
- Short description
- Creation of vegetated plots within the courtyard of the Petits Cailloux school, where families and children can come together to relax, play, and engage with local biodiversity, while strengthening community ties.
- Target audience
- Lausanne families, particularly those living in the Boveresses district, including families with young children, families experiencing social or economic difficulties, and those looking for an accessible space to meet and relax.
- Your project in detail
- The project proposes to transform the courtyard of the Petits Cailloux school into a green and welcoming space for Lausanne families. Part of the courtyard will be planted with indigenous plants, natural wooden play areas, tables and benches to enable families to gather outside school hours. The aim is to create an environment conducive to relaxation, play and education based on biodiversity and the school's gardening bins. Participatory workshops will be organized in collaboration with local families, where they will contribute to the planting of vegetation and the installation of natural play equipment, thus strengthening community ties. A giant bee hotel and flower meadow will also be set up, offering children and parents an opportunity to learn about the importance of pollinators and biodiversity. The project will have a tangible impact on local families, particularly those with little access to safe, accessible green spaces, by offering them a friendly, educational meeting place. It is also an inclusive space for families encountering difficulties, creating a favorable setting for intergenerational and social activities.
